The client is engaged in Agriculture, Vegetables and Fruit Farming as well as processing and packaging of Fruits & Vegetables. As such, the client comes within the defined sector of SBP’s WCF scheme i.e. Fruits, Vegetables and Foods Processing & Packaging.

Nature of the business requires higher working capital as preparation of land, purchase of seeds and processing and packaging of vegetables and fruit require higher investment in the given seasons. In 2016, they started cultivating Rhodes grass hay (the preferred hay fodder for camels) by utilizing 24 acres on trial basis which they sell to the international markets i.e. Middle East countries. In 2020, they increased cultivated area for Rhodes grass upto 300 acres which was further increased to 450 acres in 2021. All this land is in addition to their owned lands.

Mr. Shafi acquired fields on rent from local land lords in Mirpurkhas and Umerkot areas. PBICL facilitated in the procurement of AGRIMASTER 804 - 80Hp 4X4 Tractor, AGRIMASTER 1204 (AC CABIN)- 120Hp 4X4 Tractor and Straw Baler Machine of Germany. The two machines i.e. Quadrant 2200 are being used for cutting, harvesting and packing Grass hay. Rhodes Grass export dealers are invited at the farm for grass booking. Once the booking is done the dealers pick up the stock for export.
